Records bulletins and reports (many in Spanish) pertaining to conferences and assemblies of the Women's Consultative Committee to the League of Nations.  Also included are reports of the 7th and 8th International Conferences of American States, some biographical material and a photograph album of the 11th Assembly.

    <head>Historical Note</head>
       <p>In 1928, the Inter-American Commission of Women (IACW) was established to study the civil and political status of women in the Americas. Don Stevens was appointed first chairman of the Commission of 21 members, one from each country in North, Central, and South America.</p>

      <head>Scope and Contents of the Collection</head>
       <p>The Inter-American Commission of Women Records include correspondence, brochures, pamphlets, clippings,  reports, bulletins, and resolutions.  Bulletins and reports (many in Spanish) pertain to conferences and assemblies of the Women's Consultative Committee to the League of Nations.  Also included are biographical sketches of Doris Stevens, first head of the IACW; a photograph album of the 11th Assembly; and reports of the 7th and 8th International Conferences of American States.</p>
