      <head>Scope and Contents of the Collection</head>
       <p>The collection consists of a Scrapbook containing copies of poems and translations by Louisa and her brother Dudley Costello, and 30 or more others by Louisa Costello in her hand, some with emendations, dated and signed with initials; a loosely inserted 4 page letter from Dudley to Louisa, Feb. 26, 1860, with a pencil sketch; over 100 drawings representing their various interests, and various other engravings and photographs.</p>
