         <p>Muncis was a Latvian set designer who emigrated to Hollywood, California, in the late
                1920s. Muncis returned to Latvia for the duration of World War II. His designs won
                the Grand Prix in the theatre section of the Decorative Arts Exposition, Paris,
                1925. </p>
