Series 2 includes materials on the Conference of Friends in the Americas, held in Wichita, Kansas, in 1977, with related correspondence, 1977-1992. BIOGRAPHICAL AND HISTORICAL

Benjamin H. Branch, Jr., (1919-1993) was the son of Benjamin Harrison and Rachel Branch of Loudoun County, VA. He was a birthright member of Lincoln Monthly Meeting, and in 1950, he became a member of Goose Creek United Meeting. In 1947, he married Marjorie Lee Browne. Benjamin Branch was a longtime attender and Historian at the Friends Meeting of Washington.

Correspondence in the collection is from the Hoge family. Benjamin Branch's mother was born Rachel Neill Hoge (1874-1944); her sister, Elizabeth "Bessie" Hoge (1870-1948) married Franklin P. Wilson.

The remainder of this collection relates to the Conference of Friends in the Americas, which Benjamin Branch, Jr., attended June 1977.

The few letters in the collection are from the Hoge family. Benjamin Branch's mother was born Rachel Neill Hoge (1874-1944); her sister, Elizabeth "Bessie" Hoge (1870-1948) married Franklin P. Wilson. The remainder of this collection relates to the Conference of Friends in the Americas, which Benjamin Branch attended June 1977. It includes workshop materials and notes and subsequent correspondence.

The collection contains personal papers and materials relating to the Conference of Friends in America. Series 1 contains genealogical information and Hoge family letters. Material sorted and non-Quaker genealogical items offered to Virginia State Historical Society. The printed materials in this collection relating to Friends Meeting of Washington and Baltimore Yearly Meeting were checked for duplicates, as were the published genealogies. Genealogical books and BYM proceedings were added to duplicates. Manuscript materials divided into two series, described, and arranged chronologically. Stored in one document box and placed in Record Group 5.
